Virtual Parent Meeting

We will reshare our presentation on bullying that was provided at the Friday, October 27th parent coffee. This online presentation will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1st.

Student Planners

This week, calendars/planners were distributed to all students. As we transition into the second quarter, this is an excellent opportunity to use these as a tool to help students improve their organization, time management, and responsibility for submitting assignments by due dates.

Please encourage your child to bring the planner to and from school daily, and feel welcome to review it with him or her to look at the status of upcoming assignments and tests.

Dogs and Dog Handlers Needed – EA Paws Program

EASD 131 has launched a district-wide comfort dog program to serve our amazing students at all of our buildings.

If you meet the following criteria you may be a perfect fit for our EA PAWS Program:

  • If you have a friendly dog that enjoys being around people. 
  • If your dog meets breed requirements. Restricted breeds: Bull Terrier, Bull Dog, Cane Corso, Rottweiler, Bullmastiff, Pug, and Chows. 
  • If your dog is over the age of 2 years. 
  • If you are interested in working with your dog as a handler in EA schools.

Community Holiday Programs

There are a variety of programs available for families who need assistance with coats, clothing or toys during the holiday season. If you or a family you know needs assistance, please contact Parent Liaison Leslie Hernandez at 630-299-7175 or LHERNANDEZ@d131.org for more information.

Picture Retakes

School picture retakes will be held on November 7th.

Turkey Trot

The Boards of the A+ Foundation for West Aurora Schools, the Aurora East Educational Foundation along with the Tom-A-Hawk Turkey Trot Committee would like to invite all community members to the 3rd Annual Tom-A-Hawk Turkey Trot in Downtown Aurora which will be held on 11/18/23.

This is a wonderful collaboration between both foundations and a great testament to the love and pride that both sides of the Mighty Fox have for their community. Together we support through various initiatives the over 24,000 public school students and 3,000 teachers and staff on both the East and West sides.

All ages and abilities are welcome to come run, jog, walk or crawl! It will be a fun morning with plenty of pre and post race fun.

It’s hard to believe we are already into the second quarter of the school year–time does go fast!

Agendas para Estudiantes

Esta semana se han distribuido calendarios/agendas a todos los estudiantes. Ahora que estamos entrando en el segundo trimestre, es una excelente oportunidad para utilizarlos como herramienta para ayudar a los estudiantes a mejorar su organización, gestión del tiempo y responsabilidad a la hora de entregar las tareas en las fechas previstas.

Por favor, recomiende a su hijo(a) que lleve y traiga la agenda a diario, y no dude en revisarla con él o ella para ver el estado de las próximas tareas y exámenes.

Se Necesitan Perros y Adiestradores de Perros – Programa PAWS de EA

EASD 131 ha lanzado un programa de perros de conforto por todo el distrito para servir a nuestros estudiantes en todos nuestros edificios.

Si cumple alguno de los siguientes criterios, puede ser que sea perfecto para nuestro Programa EA Paws:

  • Si tiene un perro amistoso al que le gusta estar rodeado de gente. 
  • Si su perro cumple los requisitos de raza. Razas restringidas: Bull Terrier, Bull Dog, Cane Corso, Rottweiler, Bullmastiff, Pug, y Chows. 
  • Si su perro tiene más de 2 años. 
  • Si está interesado en trabajar con su perro como adiestrador en escuelas de EA.

Programas Comunitarios para los Días Festivos

Hay varios programas disponibles para las familias que necesitan ayuda con abrigos, ropa o juguetes durante los días festivos. Carrera del Pavo

Las Juntas Directivas de la Fundación A+ para las Escuelas del Oeste de Aurora, la Fundación Educativa del Este de Aurora junto con el Comité de la Carrera del Pavo Tom-A-Hawk les gustaría invitar a todos los miembros de la comunidad a la 3er Carrera del Pavo Tom-A-Hawk Anual en el Centro de Aurora que se llevará a cabo el 18 de noviembre de 2023.

Se trata de una magnífica colaboración entre ambas fundaciones y un gran testimonio del amor y el orgullo que ambas partes de Mighty Fox sienten por su comunidad. Juntos apoyamos, a través de diversas iniciativas, a los más de 24.000 estudiantes de escuelas públicas y a los 3.000 maestros y personal de los lados este y oeste.
