Dear FRMA families,

The final month of school is an important opportunity for students to establish positive attendance habits which, in turn, engage them in learning, build routines to reduce stress, and connect to their friends and teachers. If your child is having specific difficulties attending school, I strongly encourage you to contact me (630-299-7175) or our Parent Liaison, Leslie Hernandez (630-299-7177) so we can partner on supports for assistance.

Please be aware of these important announcements for the Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy school community:

African American Parent Association (AAPA)
There will be a final meeting for the school year for AAPA at Bardwell Elementary, 550 S. Lincoln Ave. Aurora, on Thursday, May 9, from 5:30 p.m-6:30 p.m. in the school library. Enter through door 4. Razzle Dazzle
District 131 presents the faculty and staff Razzle Dazzle variety show next Friday, May 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the East Aurora High School Auditorium. Come see you teachers dance, sing and perform like never before! Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults. All proceeds benefit the Aurora East Educational Foundation (AEEF). Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance by contacting Elizabeth Morales at: lmorales@d131.org

Mark Your Calendars: Parent Coffee
Our final parent coffee will be on Tuesday, May 21st, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the LRC. Perla Menchaca, Guidance Counselor, and Lisa Krzankowski, Social Worker, will be presenting on student mental health and available resources for families. We will make this information also available through our website for those who cannot attend the presentation.

Student Council Game Day
Our Student Council will host Game Day on Thursday, May 23rd, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the gym and cafeteria. Students will have the opportunity to play a variety of sports and games with their friends as well as have refreshments. All FRMA students are welcome to attend.

Marquen sus calendarios: Café con el Director
Nuestro último café para padres será el Martes, 21 de Mayo, de 10:00-11:00 a.m. en el LRC. Perla Menchaca, Consejera Vocacional y Lisa Krzankowski, Trabajadora Social, presentaran sobre la salud mental de los estudiantes y los recursos disponibles para las familias. Haremos que esta información también este disponible a través de nuestro sitio web para aquellos que no puedan asistir a la presentación.

Dia de Juegos del Consejo Estudiantil
Nuestro Consejo Estudiantil organizara el Día del Juego el Jueves, 23 de Mayo, de 2:30-4:30 p.m. en el gimnasio y cafetería. Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de practicar una variedad de deportes y juegos con sus amigos, además de tomar refrigerios. Todos los estudiantes de FRMA son bienvenidos a asistir.
