Parent Newsletter - January 12Boletín para padres - 12 de enero

FRMA families,

We hope your winter holidays were relaxing and restful and 2024 has started off great for your family.

Here are some important announcements:

Important January Dates
There is no school on Monday, January 15th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Tuesday, January 16th for Institute Day.

Third quarter starts on Wednesday, January 17th.

MAP Testing
On Wednesday, January 17th, students will be taking the math portion of the MAP test. On Thursday, January 18th, students will be taking the reading portion of the MAP test.

These tests help us measure growth and math and reading skills. Parents will be provided results of the tests later this winter.

To help prepare for their best effort and performance, students should ensure their Chromebooks are fully charged and they are well-rested and have eaten a good breakfast on the day of the tests.

BPAC
There will be a Bilingual Parent Advisory Council (BPAC) meeting on Thursday, January 18th at the Belle Salle Banquets from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Don’t forget to sign in at the front by checking the FRMA box on the sheet. January Spirit Week
To help students reconnect with their peers, staff are hoisting a No Name-Calling Spirit Week from January 17th-19th. The days are as follows:

Wednesday: No “Sweat” to be a friend to someone! Wear a sweatshirt or sweatpants

Thursday: Everyone counts! Wear a shirt with a number on it

Friday: PUMA Pride Day!

We encourage all students and staff to participate.

Familias de FRMA:

Esperamos que todos tuvieron unas vacaciones de invierno relajantes y de reposo, y que el 2024 haya empezado genial para su familia.

Aquí hay algunos anuncios importantes:

Fechas importantes de Enero
No habrá clases el Lunes, 15 de Enero por el Día en conmemoración a Martin Luther King Jr. y el Martes, 16 de Enero por ser Dia de Institución.

El tercer trimestre comienza el Miércoles, 17 de Enero.

Prueba MAP
El Miércoles 17 de Enero, los estudiantes de FRMA estarán haciendo la sección de matemáticas de la prueba MAP. El Jueves, 18 de Enero, los estudiantes tomarán la parte de lectura de la prueba MAP.

Estas pruebas nos ayudan a medir el crecimiento y las habilidades en matemáticas y lectura. Los padres recibirán los resultados de las pruebas más adelante este invierno.

Para ayudar a prepararse para su mejor esfuerzo y desempeño, los estudiantes deben asegurarse de que sus Chromebooks estén completamente cargadas, de que hayan descansado bien y hayan comido un buen desayuno el día de las pruebas.

BPAC
Habrá una junta del Comité de Asesoría de Padres Bilingües (BPAC) el Jueves, 18 de Enero en el Belle Salle Banquets de 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. No olvide registrarse en el frente marcando la cajita de la hoja donde dice FRMA. Semana del Espíritu de Enero
Para ayudar a los estudiantes a reconectarse con sus compañeros, el personal está organizando una Semana del Espíritu sin insultos del 17 al 19 de Enero. Los días son los siguientes:

Miércoles: ¡Sin “sudor” ser amigo de alguien! Use una sudadera o pantalones deportivos/pantalonera.

Jueves: ¡Todos cuentan! Use una camisa con un número.

Viernes: ¡Día del Orgullo PUMA!

Animamos a todos los estudiantes y al personal a participar.
