Letter from the Principal
The time is near for Fred Rodgers STEM Magnet Academy to come alive as our student body begins the 2026 - 2027 school year journey. While FRMA is relatively new, having been established in 2013, the building has a rich history that dates back a century! This year we look forward to honoring the rich memories and many reasons to celebrate all that makes our magnet academy special, while also pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
Joining me for the 2026 - 2027 school year on this exciting voyage is Mrs. Sheila Armstrong, our new assistant principal! Mrs. Armstrong brings significant leadership expertise, having spent the previous nine years at Waldo Middle School. Her attention to detail, commitment to the very best for students and the greater FRMA community, and deep conviction to lifelong learning resonate with me as part of our administrative team. Together, we promise to recognize the outstanding work of our students, staff, and families while also broadening the access, agency, and voice of each Fred Rodgers community member.
Our work this and every year is focused on maximizing learning outcomes for all students. When considering a theme to unify this focus, we kept coming back to design. Fred Rodgers STEM Magnet Academy provides unique opportunities to our students individually and collectively, and a major aspect of all STEM endeavors is the design principles and elements that go into any product from beginning to conclusion. Ultimately, we deliver the best for every student when we:
Design exceptional learning. Inspire voice. Enrich relationships.
Our promise to everyone connected to FRMA is to deliver this reality throughout the school year. We are absolutely delighted to have your child as part of the FRMA family. We openly welcome your active involvement daily and look forward to partnering with you to elevate the bright futures of each student on our campus.
In closing, the privilege of serving each individual reading this is one we humbly recognize with profound reverence. We excitedly await August 19th and are ready to forge an identity rooted in both the outstanding FRMA reputation our community knows and a commitment to embark on new and exhilarating ways to engage our students. Please let us know how we can continue to deliver the very best for your child and let us join together to build upon our strengths and offer support in times of need.
In Partnership,
Tony Holub
